Perth cat owners warned of steel traps

Two cats have been caught in steel jaw traps in Perth this week, prompting a warning from the RSPCA.

A cat was caught by a trap in Perth's east and put down due to the extent of its injuries, while another feline was trapped in Mandurah, south of Perth earlier this week.

RSPCA chief executive David van Ooran said staff were now searching for the owner of the surviving cat, which staff have named Django.

"Django is a lovely, friendly tabby boy, we think someone may be missing him and we would like to be able to reunite them," Mr van Ooran said.
