Partying teens throw bottles at WA police

Teenagers at an out of control party attended by about 200 people have thrown bottles at police who tried to disperse the crowd.

Police attended the event in Hazelmere in Perth's east on Saturday night to find many teenagers drunk, vehicles blocking the street and loud music coming from a house.

When officers declared the party an out of control gathering and told people to leave, some youths allegedly threw bottles at police.

Reinforcements, including the dog squad and mounted police, were called in and police detained 16 juveniles until their guardians arrived to take them home.

Police said charges could still be laid.
