Paramedic fights for life after crash

A paramedic is fighting for his life after an ambulance was involved in a crash with a car in Perth's south.

The paramedic, a man aged in his 40s, had to be freed after becoming trapped in the ambulance after it rolled on to its roof in Oldbury shortly before 5am (WST) on Monday.

He was flown by helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition suffering serious injuries.

The male driver of the other vehicle, aged in his 30s, was also taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.

A female paramedic and passenger in the car both suffered minor injuries.

The ambulance was on its way to a non-urgent job and was carrying no patients.

Major Crash investigators are at the scene.
