Earlier, an emergency warning was issued for the Dalyup area, west of Esperance, in the state's far south.

Homes near Murray Road are under threat by fire, with flames higher than roof tops, DFES warns.

The blaze was reported on January 4 and has burnt about 3000 hectares.

The cause is a reignition of a previous fire caused by lightning.
