Mystery fire death in Perth investigated

Witnesses are being urged to come forward following the suspicious death of a man critically injured in a unit fire in North Perth.

Peter Anthony Jarman, 49, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital after he was found at his fire-damaged Charles Street apartment on June 3 but died soon after.

Forensic officers finished combing the apartment on Friday but have renewed calls for public help.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Cleal said on Saturday police were keen to speak to anyone who saw Mr Jarman after he was dropped home by an Uber driver after finishing his shift at a local supermarket about 2.30am on June 3.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who interacted with Mr Jarman from this time through until about 10.30am on that day, which is when the fire was reported to emergency services," he said.

The detective said Mr Jarman was a much loved family member and his untimely death had caused them and many others distress.

"The cause of death remains under investigation but the circumstances are suspicious," he added.

Police also want to hear from anyone on Charles Street between 10am and 11am on Saturday or has footage taken in the area.
