A teenager accused of fatally bashing her grandfather with a frying pan during an altercation might apply for bail, a Perth court has heard.

Tayla Louise Perkin appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday via video link from Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison, charged with murdering 89-year-old Lyall Ellis at his Esperance home on Anzac Day.

The 18-year-old was remanded in custody to appear back in court on June 28, and the magistrate told Perkin she could apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
