A motorcyclist allegedly twice rode on the wrong side of the road to evade Perth police before falling off the bike.

The 32-year-old man sped away from police in East Perth on Saturday night, wove through traffic and travelled onto the wrong side of the road before officers lost sight of him in Northbridge.

About an hour later, he was seen in Mt Hawthorn and sped away, again driving on the wrong side of the road, police alleged.

The rider later hit a kerb in Osborne Park and fell off his motorcycle, but was not injured.

Police seized the bike, which had false number plates, for 28 days.

The man has been charged with two counts each of reckless driving and failing to stop, and one count each of no authority to drive, altering a licence plate and having an unlicensed vehicle.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on December 19.
