More guilty pleas for WA Health Dept fraud

Two more contractors have admitted their involvement in Perth's North Metropolitan Health Service fraud scandal.

An explosive Corruption and Crime Commission report last year revealed bureaucrats John Fullerton, David Mulligan and Shaun Ensor took gratuities including overseas flights and accommodation from 11 contractors for a decade.

The contractors were given ongoing work in exchange.

Three of five contractors charged over the scam, Anthony Richard Williams, Philip Stephen Wood and Liam Glenn Howard, pleaded guilty in Perth Magistrates Court last month.

On Friday, Garth Norman Delavale and Ian John Tremain did the same.

Both men's offending benefited Mr Fullerton, who is at the centre of the scandal and is yet to be charged.

The court previously heard a man known as "The Fixer", Grant Alexander, has also not yet been charged.

Howard's lawyer alleges Mr Alexander instructed his client to create false invoices to siphon off cash allocated for legitimate Health Department work to pay for construction at Mr Fullerton's home.

The lavish renovations amounted to $170,000, according to the CCC.

Tremain and Delavale will face the District Court of WA on November 8.

Wood, whose 17 charges including wilfully destroying evidence, will face the same court on October 11 along with Howard and Williams.

Mr Fullerton, Mr Mulligan and Mr Ensor pocketed more than $600,000 in redundancy payments before the CCC findings were released.

Attorney-General John Quigley says the department knew the CCC probe was underway when the payments were made and the cash will be hard to recover.
