Millions of dollars’ worth of drugs removed from local streets

Police have seized more than 4kgs of methamphetamine and cocaine as part of a crack down targeting trafficking hot spots, including at Perth Airport.

Detectives intercepted men with drugs strapped to their bodies and a set of golf clubs filled with cocaine.

Two suspicious men had arrived from Melbourne on Tuesday night when they were spotted by organised crime detectives.

Each of the men had 500grams of meth each hidden under their clothes, strapped to their abdomens.

The same night, police found another man from New South Wales who was transporting a pair of golf clubs which had been hollowed out and filled with 1kg of cocaine.

The seizures contributed to two major operations targeting traffickers across Australia.

It has helped remove more than $3-million worth of drugs off our streets.

WA officers also found illicit substances being transported in packages via mail, and inside cars and trucks heading to Bunbury.

Across the National operation, heroin, cannabis, guns and cash were also seized.

Police say they have several people in custody but no charges have been laid yet.
