Manslaughter charge over taxi driver death

A man has been charged with manslaughter over a crash that killed a taxi driver in Perth's southeastern suburbs last month.

The 43-year-old taxi driver died a short time after the three-car crash at a Kelmscott intersection on March 1.

On Thursday, police said a 39-year-old Gosnells man had been charged with manslaughter.

He was released on bail and will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on April 21.

Also on Thursday, police said they had charged a US tourist after a two car head-on crash in Bedfordale on March 20 that killed a 60-year-old woman and a two-year-old girl.

Five other people were seriously injured.

One of the drivers, a 60-year-old man from Massachusetts, has been charged with three counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death and one count of dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on April 24.
