Man to face trial over de facto's murder

A 37-year-old man accused of murdering his de facto wife in Perth's northeast is set to face trial.
Jody Websdale, 42, was found by a neighbour with neck injuries in the courtyard of a block of public housing units on Cooper Street in Midland on March 9 last year.
Damien John Couzens appeared in the Supreme Court of WA via video link from Hakea Prison on Monday and, while he has not yet formally entered a plea, his lawyer indicated he would fight the charge.

A seven-day trial has been provisionally scheduled to start on August 1.
