A man has admitted posing as a delivery driver and scaring a 67-year-old grandmother and three children at a Perth home.

Anandkumar Sivapragasam, 37, approached his neighbour's Forrestfield unit on December 19 wearing a motorcycle helmet and brandishing a toy handgun.

The terrifying incident was initially considered a possible child abduction case.

He will face a sentencing hearing in the West Australian District Court on March 22 over the aggravated burglary offence.

The three other charges will be dealt with by a magistrate on July 31.
