Man guilty over WA building row threats

A Perth man has been found guilty of stalking and intimidating three people following building contract disputes, but two other men have been acquitted of any involvement in the crimes.

Piotr Richard Clements, 48, was found guilty on three charges in the WA District Court this week. His co-defendants Talbot James Le Page, 46, and his employee Pasquale Forgione, 51, were found not guilty.

A fourth man, Sergio Demali, also featured heavily in the case but did not stand trial.

Mr Le Page was the sole director of building company Turquoise Developments and was accused of procuring Regal Corporate Solutions, led by Clements and Demali, to collect perceived debts from clients.

But prosecutor Paul Usher said the pair used "threats, harassment, stalking, extortion and intimidation".

Mr Usher said in one case after a woman terminated her home renovation contract and travelled overseas, her brother was approached and Demali told him he had "ties to Mick Gatto".

There were also other threats through her associates, including her lawyer, Mr Usher said.

In a separate case, the court heard Clements told one man he and Demali were not scared of bikies, saying: "We cut off limbs too. That happens to people who cross us."

Clements has been released on bail until a sentencing hearing on December 5.
