Man dies at Rottnest Island beach

A man aged his 60s has died after being pulled from the water unresponsive at a popular resort island off Perth.

The man was found in the water near Rottnest Island's Basin Beach on Wednesday afternoon and local emergency services tried to revive him.

His family are there as local police continue inquiries and prepare a report for the coroner.
