Man dies after kangaroo smashes into truck windscreen

A 63-year-old driver has died after he struck a kangaroo while driving a truck on South Coast Highway near Marbelup Road.

The kangaroo struck the cabin windscreen on the white Isuzu truck, seriously injuring the driver.

The vehicle continued a short distance and stopped off the road in the bush.

Witnesses stopped to help the man and Emergency Services arrived but the Middleton Beach man died at the scene.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
