Man charged with murdering baby in Perth

Police have charged a 35-year-old man with murdering a six-month-old baby in Perth.

Police and paramedics were called to a Brookdale home on Thursday night and found the injured girl.

Emergency first aid was provided and she was rushed to hospital, but she later died.

The man, who police say knew the child, was refused bail and is due to appear in court on Friday.

A woman who lived in the street told reporters she saw the baby being taken out on a stretcher and paramedics working on her.
