Man charged with murder over WA fight

A man will face court on a murder charge following the death of a 56-year-old man who suffered severe head injuries during a fight last month.

The victim was taken 220km from Kirup to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition following the assault on July 14, and died on July 25.

A 24-year-old Kirup man was initially charged with causing grievous bodily harm and criminal damage, but police have now upgraded the charge to murder following a post-mortem.

He is due to face Bunbury court on Friday.
