Man charged over string of Perth bushfires

A 44-year-old has been charged with deliberately lighting 16 bushfires in suburbs neighbouring his own on Perth's north-eastern fringe.
The fires in Middle Swan, Midland, Gidgegannup and Jane Brook between December 2015 and December 2016 caused significant damage.
The accused, from Swan View, will appear in Midland Magistrates Court later on Friday.
