Litter traps thirsty lizard in WA bushland
AAP
A thirsty lizard has been cut free after getting stuck in a can in bushland close to Perth.
Alyssa Over found the black headed monitor with its head completely stuck in Bickley Reservoir and took it to Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where staff were able to cut the can off.
"They get quite a few lizards caught in cans like this during the summer months and unfortunately had one a few weeks earlier that died as it wasn't found soon enough," she told AAP.

Ms Over said there was quite a bit of litter around and Kanyana Centre reminded people to use bins to prevent other animals from getting stuck.
