Kerr gets curfew lifted to play football

Retired West Coast Eagles midfielder Daniel Kerr has had his bail conditions altered so he can play football while waiting to face trial on violence charges stemming from an alleged incident last year.

Kerr, 31, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday where his lawyer, John Prior, had the footballer's bail conditions varied to remove his curfew.

The court heard Kerr was moving to Denmark, in Western Australia's Great Southern region, to play football with Denmark-Walpole.

Mr Prior said Kerr's sport and work commitments meant his curfew was unsuitable.

Police did not oppose the bail changes.

Kerr previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of endangering the life, health or safety of a person after an alleged incident at a Glendalough home in November.

The two-time Brownlow Medal runner-up spent four nights at Hakea Prison last year after his parents initially refused to sign off on a $5000 surety to release him on bail.

After his release, Kerr told the Seven Network it was the "kick in the butt" he needed to turn his life around.

But the premiership player also conceded he could still face jail time over the violent incident if he's found guilty.

Kerr is due back in court for a trial allocation hearing later this month.
