Irish backpacker in WA bailed to go home

An Irish backpacker who allegedly concealed the birth of her baby while travelling with friends in Western Australia has been granted a change in her bail conditions so she can return home.

Caroline Marie Quinn, 25, is charged with concealing the birth of a child that died.

The law requires all births be reported, even when a baby has died of natural causes.

The Perth Magistrate's Court approved Quinn's bail application on Wednesday to allow her to be with her family in Ireland while her case was processed.

Quinn is scheduled to reappear in court for a committal mention on October 2.
