Inquiry into WA police shooting death

A formal investigation has been launched after a man was shot dead by police officers in the Perth suburb of Darlington.
The 29-year-old man was in the passenger side of a Ford Falcon sedan armed with a shotgun when he was wounded on Thursday night.
Police fired their weapons and the man suffered a number of gunshot wounds.

The officers gave the man first aid before St Johns Ambulance attended, but the man died at the scene.
Major Crime Squad detectives and Police Internal Affairs Unit are investigating the shooting.
