Perth Uber driver charged after allegedly molesting female passenger

An Uber driver in Perth has been charged with indecent assault and deprivation of liberty after he allegedly molested a female passenger during a journey earlier this year.

Police say the 28-year-old driver collected the woman, who is aged in her 30s, from the Northbridge entertainment district in the early hours of April 22 and indecently assaulted her after stopping his car.

Uber management and the Department of Transport have been notified, and the man is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on July 17.
