Former West Coast Eagle Daniel Kerr remains behind bars

Retired West Coast footballer Daniel Kerr was likely to spend a second night behind bars despite being granted bail over a violent incident in Perth.

A corrective services spokesman said on Thursday the 31-year-old remained in Hakea remand prison because his surety had not been paid.

Kerr was charged with two counts of endangering the life, health or safety of a person after an incident in Glendalough on Tuesday night.

The next day, he appeared briefly in Perth Magistrates Court, where he was granted bail with conditions including a curfew, and orders to stay away from the two complainants and two addresses involved.

Details of the alleged incident and the identities of the complainants were not revealed in court, where he is scheduled to return on November 26.

Lawyer John Prior told AAP he had not heard from Kerr since Wednesday, when he acknowledged the allegations were serious.

West Coast was sought for comment.

The club had previously said it would continue to support Kerr, who had been an outstanding player and needed help to get his life back on track.

Kerr made his AFL debut in 2001 and played 220 games for the Eagles.

He was a Brownlow Medal runner-up in 2005 and 2007, and won a premiership with the team in 2006.

But he was plagued by injuries after 2008 and retired from the AFL in 2013.
