Family pray for miracle after dad bashed

The family of a 37-year-old father who is fighting for his life after being bashed at a Perth pub say they are praying for a miracle.

The victim, Diego Hulton, was attacked outside the Brook Bar and Bistro in Ellenbrook on Friday night, where the boxing bout between Danny Green and Anthony Mundine had been screened.

Family members say Mr Hulton, who has a son and daughter, had gone to the aid of his younger brother Jorveth who had become involved in a fight.

Mobile phone footage of the fight taken by witnesses show him lying motionless on the ground after being repeatedly punched.

The mens' sister Nayoka Toni Toleafoa-Hulton has posted messages saying she feels broken and shattered and that her brother is on life support.

"We are all praying for a miracle. Please wake up Diego, my heart and soul feels broken to bits," she wrote.

Mr Hulton is from Rotorua in New Zealand but is believed to have been in Australia for about six years.

Two men have been charged over the attack.

Balga man Salvtore Raimondi, 32, spent the weekend in custody before he faced Northbridge Magistrate's Court on Sunday on charges of causing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He did not apply for bail, was remanded in custody and will appear in Midland Magistrates Court on February 21.

A second man, also aged 32, of Ballajura was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will face the same court on March 3.
