Several injured in emergency plane landing in WA’s north

Five people have been injured after a tourist plane made a rough landing in WA’s Kimberley region.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing about 4pm (AWST) after the pilot noticed some abnormal engine indications.

The engine power continued to deteriorate before it could reach the airfield.

The pilot decided to land the plane on flat terrain, about six kilometres from the Bungle Bungles airfield.

The plane which had eight passengers and a pilot on board.

The pilot was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

Four injured passengers were flown to Kununurra Hospital.

Aviation authorities are investigating.
