Elderly man hit and killed by car in Perth

An elderly man who was hit by a car near Kings Park in Perth has died in hospital.
The 80-year-old was struck by a black Mercedes-Benz as he tried to cross Thomas Street in West Perth just before 7am on Friday.
The man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries and died a short time later, police say, while the driver was treated for shock.
