Drunk driver assaults Perth policeman
AAP
A policeman had to have his chin stitched after he was allegedly attacked by a drunk driver in Perth's northern suburbs.
Police said the 24-year-old man also left the officer with an injured jaw and damaged teeth.
They allege he drove at double the 50km/h speed limit through Scarborough and Karrinyup after a patrol car tried to stop him on Sunday night, then lashed out after eventually stopping.

The man has been charged with four offences including assaulting a public officer, and will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court later on Monday.
