Drug raids in Perth; 8 properties frozen

More than $3 million worth of assets have been frozen by police after a series of raids throughout the Perth metropolitan area netted drugs, guns, cash and stolen goods.

Detectives searched eight residences in Welshpool, East Perth, Joondalup and Mirrabooka on Thursday, finding illegal items including loaded, modified and homemade firearms.

Assets were then restrained, including seven commercial properties, one residential property and a $400,000 bank account.

Two men, aged 54 and 21, have been charged with offences relating to illicit drugs and stolen property.

Five other people have been charged with various offences and inquiries are continuing regarding people who police have not yet found.
