Dog seized in relation to WA cat attacks

A Perth council has seized a dog in relation to a spate of fatal attacks on household cats.

More than 20 cats in Ballajura were savaged over a three month period, with some witnesses spotting a vehicle with a dog cage on the rear tray nearby, sparking an investigation by the City of Swan.

The local government seized three dogs in relation to the attacks on December 4, which have since been cleared of involvement and released, but confirmed on Thursday at least one more dog had been apprehended.

"We have committed significant resources towards trying to catch these dogs and are working with the WA Police," City of Swan chief executive Mike Foley said.
