Daughter charged over mother's corpse

A woman has been charged with interfering with the corpse of her own 76-year-old mother after she was discovered dead in the backyard.

A 55-year-old woman from South Guildford was charged with interfering with a corpse to hinder an inquiry and refused bail to appear at Midland court on Friday.

The dead woman's 21-year-old granddaughter, who lived at the house with her mother and grandmother, discovered the body after noticing a smell and skull on Wednesday, and an autopsy is still to investigate how she died.
