Cyclone assistance extended to Geraldton
AAP
Disaster assistance for West Australian communities lashed by Tropical Cyclone Olwyn has been extended to the greater Geraldton area.
The federal government announced a fortnight ago that financial help would be provided to Ashburton, Carnarvon, Exmouth and Shark Bay, and on Tuesday added the coastal Mid West area to the list.
Premier Colin Barnett said the cyclone and associated flooding had caused widespread damage to the greater Geraldton community.
