Culleton has win in Federal Court

Disqualified and bankrupt former One Nation senator Rod Culleton has had a rare legal win after a second attempt to have him declared bankrupt was thrown out of the Federal Court.

Farmers Bruce Bell and Frank Bertola brought a creditors petition to court claiming to represent 40 individuals or entities owed an estimated $5 million by Mr Culleton.

However court registrar Russell Trott told Mr Bertola it was "incompetent", he should have received legal advice first and dismissed it, awarding any costs to Mr Culleton.

Mr Bell and Mr Bertola were arrested at Mr Culleton's federal court bankruptcy hearing last month over a violence restraining order taken against them by his wife.

Mr Culleton was involved in a scuffle with former state Liberal MP Anthony Fels outside court this month, when he tried to serve the creditors petition on him on behalf of the two men.
