The former national president of the Australia China Business Council, who is accused of encouraging a teenager to do an indecent act, has formally pleaded not guilty.

Duncan Harvey Calder is charged with procuring, inciting and encouraging a child aged over 13 and under 16 to do an indecent act and seeking a prostitute in the view of a public place.

Calder formally pleaded not guilty in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday and the matter will now be referred to the District Court of Western Australia.

His bail was extended on conditions including not going near Perth International Airport.
