Child dead after being struck by vehicle outside Western Australia roadhouse

A seven-year-old boy has died in an accident outside a roadhouse in Western Australia's mid-west region.
Police said the boy was standing outside the roadhouse at the intersection of Midlands Road and William Street in Mingenew yesterday when he was struck by a vehicle about 7.30pm.
He was standing with his four-year-old brother, who witnessed the impact.
The boy was rushed to Dongara Hospital by ambulance but died from his injuries.
The driver, who did not stop, was found this morning and is speaking with police.
"At this time, we are not treating this as a hit-and-run incident," a police spokeswoman said.
Police said the driver may not have realised they had hit someone.
