Charges over home invasion father shooting

A string of charges have been laid against two men allegedly involved in an early morning home invasion in Perth's south that led to a father-of-three having his lower leg amputated.

Six male hoodie-wearing attackers broke into the 31-year-old victim's Cooloongup home just before 2am on April 8 and fired a gun close to his three children, aged between six and 10.

They then shot the man and demanded property from him, but left empty-handed.

On Thursday, police said two men, aged 33 and 36, had been charged with offences including grievous bodily harm and stealing a motor vehicle.

When police first called for information from the public about the incident, they said the attackers used a four-wheel drive that had earlier been reported stolen from Esperance.

The 33-year-old has already appeared in the Rockingham Magistrates Court while the 36-year-old will face Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on August 12.
