Charge over WA sleeping toddler car theft

A man has been charged after he allegedly stole a car from a Perth family home with a sleeping toddler in the back seat three months ago.

The theft sparked a two-hour major manhunt, ending when the vehicle was found dumped several blocks away from the Victoria Park home with the three-year-old boy unharmed in the back seat.

The 32-year-old has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and acts or emissions likely to endanger the life or safety of another person, a police spokesman said.
