Car thieves in chase on WA police video
Two men who allegedly dangerously drove a stolen car around Perth and and tried to escape on foot before being caught had their escapade filmed from a police helicopter.
It's alleged the men, 21 and 30, stole a Volkswagen Golf sedan during a burglary in Floreat on Monday morning, and were then spotted driving the car on Tuesday in City Beach.
They failed to stop when police appeared and sped away, and were then monitored by the helicopter as they drove through various Perth suburbs.
The police used stinger devices on two occasions to deflate their tyres, and the men eventually abandoned the car in Como before fleeing on foot.
They tried to stop a number of cars, demanding to hitch a ride and leave the area, but were unsuccessful and arrested.
They have both been charged with multiple offences, including stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, and will face Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
