Car swan dives into Perth river

Dog walkers have stumbled upon a submerged car in Perth's eastern suburbs.

Bassendean local Gill Cordiner said the car was close to completely submerged when she arrived at the Swan River at around 9am.

"There was another guy there that was walking his dog and he said somebody had been seen swimming down the river," she said.

Police said the car was not believed to have been stolen.
