Car crash during WA police airwing chase

A car has crashed into a another vehicle after crossing on to the wrong side of the road while being chased by the police airwing in Perth.

Police saw a stolen black Ford Falcon sedan doing burnouts in a car park in Jindalee about 11.30pm on Friday, but the car drove off when they tried to stop it.

The police airwing tracked it through several suburbs and when it reached Great Northern Highway at Upper Swan it crossed to the wrong side of the road, crashing with a Holden Rodeo.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Falcon received minor injuries.

The Ford was stolen from a Bibra Lake home on Christmas Day, had two false number plates and the driver did not have a current driver's licence, police say.

A 31-year-old Parmelia man has been charged with car theft, failing to stop, reckless driving, no authority to drive and driving a car with false number plates.

He has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
