Quick thinking neighbours have helped arrest a Perth man who attempted to flee a crash scene in Canning Vale overnight.

Police say just after 9.30pm a man driving grey Ford XR6 lost control at a roundabout on The Bridgeway, and slammed into a home.

It’s believed the man has then reversed his car, and sped off down the street.

He left behind his front bumper and number plate.

Neighbours chased the car for around 200 metres to a nearby house and alerted police.

The homeowner was shaken up by the ordeal.

She told 9 News she heard tires screeching before a loud bang.

The force of the car slamming into the house was strong enough to knock down the wall of her daughter’s bedroom.

She wasn’t home at the time and no one else was injured.

Police arrested a 34-year-old man who was breath tested for alcohol.
