Canning River murder accused fights charge

A man accused of murdering a woman in Perth's southeast before dumping her body in the Canning River has pleaded not guilty.

Peter Michael Bradshaw was charged with murdering Janelle Kathleen Knox on April 15 last year.

Bradshaw denied the charge when he appeared in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via videolink from Hakea Prison on Wednesday.

The matter has been committed for trial in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Bradshaw will next appear in court on October 27 for a mention.

He was initially charged with grievous bodily harm but the charge was upgraded.
