Violent brawl filmed at Perth train station
Video of a violent fight that broke out at Perth Station has gone viral after it was posted on Facebook.
The footage, which was posted on Monday and has since attracted more than 34,000 views, shows three men brawling on a train platform.
Two of the young men punch and kick as the other fights back with violence of his own.
The voices of people egging on the fighters can be heard as one of the men is restrained by a transport officer.
The other two continue to fight with flailing limbs before backup arrives in the form of four transport officers who pull them apart.
Transperth spokesman David Hynes told Perth Now the incident, which he said was clearly filmed at Perth Station, was a “graphic reminder” of the Public Transport Authority’s zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour.
“It is gratifying to see the speed and efficiency of the transit officers in responding and putting a stop to the fighting,” he said.
“Had this occurred elsewhere, for example at a shopping centre or in the street, it is unlikely that it would have been resolved anywhere near as quickly.”
