The West Australian government has closed bids for the state's central wholesale fruit and vegetable trading and distribution hub, which is being sold to trim mounting debt.

Treasurer Mike Nahan said the Market City hub, currently managed and owned by the Perth Market Authority, had attracted interest from a diverse range of bidders.

The fruit and vegetable facility was one of several state assets put up for sale last year, with the successful bidder to be announced in early 2016.
