Former WA MP Barry Urban fighting for life after alleged coward punch
Former WA MP Barry Urban, once embroiled in a fake medals scandal, is fighting for his life after he was allegedly bashed at work in Perth's south-east.
Witnesses say they overheard Urban in an argument with a customer about a "wheel alignment" about 8am today.
The 55-year-old was then allegedly knocked to the ground at Tyre Brigade in Kelmscott.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and the former MP was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with "critical injuries".
He's set to undergo emergency surgery.
Urban was a member of the McGowan government but he lied about war medals that weren't his and faked documents, ultimately ending in him being jailed in 2021.

However locals, who are in shock over the incident, didn't have a bad word to say about the former politician, describing him as the "nicest guy".
A 25-year-old man is assisting police with an investigation.
