The West Australian police commissioner's son, who is facing a string of violent offences, will re-apply for bail before Christmas.

Russell O'Callaghan, 34, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday via video link from Casuarina prison, where he has been since he breached protective bail conditions and a violence restraining order.

His lawyer requested a two-week adjournment so that a bail application could be organised before Christmas, with the hope of seeing him granted home detention again.

The court heard his breach involved making Facebook contact with his alleged victim.

O'Callaghan is still facing other charges including threats to kill, deprivation of liberty and aggravated indecent assault.

He previously indicated he would plead not guilty to all seven of those charges.

Police commissioner Karl O'Callaghan has previously refused to comment on the case while it is before the courts.

O'Callaghan will appear in court again on December 23.
