Bad weather cancels Cottesloe swim event
AAP
Bad weather has forced organisers of the Cottesloe Open Water Swim to cancel the event.
Strong southwesterly winds and a significant swell, coupled with 18C waters and squally rain, led Swimming WA to abandon the swim about 8.15am, affecting about 400 participants who had registered to take part in the 1.25km, 2.5km and 5km events.
Forty-one swimmers participated in the 500m swim, which set off at 7.35am.

All registered participants unable to swim on Saturday will be automatically transferred to Round 3 of the series in Mandurah on November 6.
