Australians world's 2nd biggest meth users
SNAPSHOT OF NATIONAL WASTEWATER DRUG MONITORING:
* Australians are the world's second biggest users of methylamphetamine, behind Slovakia, according to wastewater monitoring here and in Europe (there are no significant tests in Asia or the Americas)
* Meth use is highest in WA by far, with consumption in the regions almost double that of regional Victoria
* Meth use is also above the national average and at historic highs in South Australia, with consumption in the city outstripping the regions
* Cocaine use was second highest nationally in urban Northern Territory but its use in NSW' cities was almost twice that. Fenanyl use is highest in regional NSW
* Oxycodone rates in regional Victoria are the highest, followed by regional Queensland
* Ecstacy use is by far highest in urban Northern Territory, followed by regional Tasmania
* Consumption of fentanyl in the ACT is above the national average.
