Arrest warrant issued for Perth dog killer

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Perth man who fatally stabbed his neighbour's dog during an early morning dispute after he failed to show up for his trial.

Silo Sagote stabbed Bullet the bull mastiff after it got between him and its owner as the pair argued in Redcliffe about 2am on January 27, 2018.

Perth Magistrates Court previously heard Sagote claimed he was holding knives because he had been cooking.

He told reporters outside court after one of several appearances last year that he had defended himself and was sorry for the dog's death.

He pleaded guilty at one stage then changed his plea after the magistrate warned he could face jail time.

Sagote was due to face trial on Monday but didn't show up.

The court heard he had missed or turned up late for previous appearances.

The police prosecutor said he would oppose bail when Sagote next appeared in court.
