Arrest after car pursuit in Perth suburbs

A dramatic police chase through suburban Perth involving a police helicopter has ended after members of the public caught the man attempting to run away.

WA Police posted a photo on Twitter of the driver, saying: "male arrested after evade police stolen car, top job by members of the public."

They said the man drove off when they tried to stop the allegedly stolen car in Perth's northeast and was followed by a police helicopter through various suburbs and by officers on the ground.

He was cornered by members of the public after running away from the vehicle and faces numerous criminal charges.
